How the Trukkboyz began
So, I went out and I bought some Tamiya paints. They're more watery, drab colors that I imagine are used for tanks and such. They allowed me to paint a bit more of a gritty, realistic ork with a more drab, olive skintone that I think I like. I also got to experiment with goggles and the tire shoulder idea I had - I want to arm my trukk boyz with goggles and pieces of vehicles. I took some of these pictures with one of my previous boyz for comparison purposes. I think the newer skintone came out pretty good, and I might make the rest of my army those colors.
Goggles, shotgun and knife strapped across the back, some chains, and a section of tire as the shoulder guard. I like how it came out, but I'm not sure if the skintone is too dark. I was afraid how the goggles + helmet combo would look - they're supposed to be pushed up over his eyes and onto the top of the helmet, but my girlfriend thought they were on his eyes... meh. The tire is one of the flat ork shoulders with greenstuff ontop of it - I just smoothed it out and carved a little tread.
